zacky of course started opening presents earlier in the week. He LOVES his ihome that grandma and pop pop sent. Now he can listen to his music LOUD all over the house (the kids can't NOT have music playing these days!)
He opened the sleds that grandma martin sent a day early. He was excited because our other sleds are starting to look sad. We actually got a huge storm on his birthday but didn't have time to go out :(
this year the Blue and Gold banquet feel the day before his birthday (he's still brings up that last bday stunk cause he had to go to Pack Mtg!). This year the kids were supposed to bring a decorated cake. Zacky made a LeBron holding ballons cake topper. It was the last cake to be picked in the cake walk ;) I was just happy because it's my last Blue and Gold!! yay!
Taylor had a slumber party with Kara because she was skipping school to go snowboarding with Kara (she used her new board and was awesome!) When I took Zacky to school...I got caught by miss Kitchen :) I just said, "I'm not going to tell you where Taylor is because you'll think I'm a bad mom! :) ...So Zacky and I had a slumber party and I brought him pancakes in bed. He ate 3 "10s" so he said he was really 30! He was so excited to be 10 and was in such a good mood all day :)
...checking to see if he got any bigger :) I made a rule of no shorts during the freezing weather, but today I let him wear his new shorts so he was excited. At school Lauren even brought him a treat for his special day :) And he asked if I could pick him up early for his big day :)
Daddy got him a big airplane!
He was very happy except that it wasn't a cel phone...He really thought he was getting one :(
After school he wanted to go practice shooting. Before the other boys came, I made up a few games for him. I picked 10 spots around the key and said if he could make them all in a row, he'd get a "king 10" candy bar. Really didn't think he'd be able to, but knew it'd be good practice. Not only did he do it, but he passed my 10 free throws in a row test too! He was SO excited. At the game the next day, he was on fire! He scored 17 points and made 3 of his 4 free throws. I think he's realizing that practice is a good thing! He came out and said "that was SO fun!!" and he made a couple underhanded lay ups like Le Bron so he was happy :)
He wanted Brick Oven for dinner and we ended up with everyone but Phillippis and mom. After moving Jared stupid tile :) we headed out. 2 table stunk, but Zacky was happy!
On the way home, Zacky let out a huge gas bubble and had everyone hanging out the window! gross! Then Taylor let one go and started laughing so hard that she puked. We had to stop to clean her up! Wow, what a night.
We went home and Zacky opened his last box from mop mop and pop pop. He got lots of clothes, but liked his new soccer jersey best! He wore it to school the next day with a big smile!
We don't need to go clothes shopping anytime soon ;)
He picked out chocolate for his King 10. He said his new arm band from grandma gayle was he secret weapon in the basketball game that he rocked! :) Love this cute kid!!
When Daddy came home for the weekend, he brought Zacky an early b-day present. More Mario video games. Yeah for mommy ;) Those boys could play all night if I let them!
For his party, Zacky requested going back to our favorite gym in Provo. We hadn't been in 5 years! He wanted all family and friends there. It was quite the party!! They all LOVED it!
Kimmy and Bryan wrestling of course!
The pit was their favorite part!
rope swinging was the next fav!

then Kelly suggested relay races in the pit :)
Since we couldn't have any food or drink in the gym and our house is all torn up, Zacky wanted to go to Macy's to get the King Kong ice cream cones! WT but just what he wanted. He opened his presents in the car on the way to Macy's and was already sporting his new hat and LONG shorts that Seth got him :) (Alec, Seth, Hudson, Andrea, Ryan Tetro and Derek)
After instead of the usual junky party bag to take home, they all picked out the candy of their choice. Most went with candy sodas :) What a day! Zacky said it was the best party of his life! :) Can't believe he's turning 10! I told him he promised me that he wouldn't get bigger! He just smiled.
It's Valentines! Taylor and Noelle made some adorable sugar cookies!! They were SO yummy! Taylor is definitely quite the little baker!
Zacky likes to go to the church to practice bball...we usually take Hudson or the twins. Taylor loves it too and somehow beats everyone in our shooting race games! She kicked my butt! She played her first YW bball last week. She's such a good shooter but doesn't quite get the game yet :)
Adult V-day Date night. We went to our favorite cheesesteak place for dinner and then to the Valentines Day movie (what a dissapointment-the boys were not happy with us :) After dinner we stopped for treats at Target and had a little bit of time to blow, so of course it got silly :) Mom and Becca were very embarrassed :)
they sell these one piece outfits FOR REAL! wow!
Kelly's was by far the worst!
Valentine's Day. I left church a little early to set up the treats (I'm done with my cushy primary piano calling :( and Bryan's now a primary teacher so I have to do SS alone! bummer) The both asked for Rosetta Stone French. They have been practicing with my pathetic old book and now are so loving this program. It's amazing what they already know. After Cyd's dad went down to Haiti, the kids were talking about adopting a child and that they would need to know French :) They are so cute! Zacky asked for a BIG hersey kiss! Grandma Martin sent money (always a pleaser :) and Mop Mop and Pop Pop sent Zacky a tool belt :) and Taylor lip gloss that she carries everywhere. She LOVES makeup!

On Presidents Day we took the girls ice skating while the boys went ice fishing :) Taylor was a big helper with the little boys :)
Kara was going to take Taylor night skiing, but my binding are broken, so what started with a search for new bindings, turned into finding a new board and bindings! It is SO cute! We told Taylor it was Zacky's birthday present :)
Bryan had to leave town that night but stopped by to coach for 15 minutes :)
