Zacky got to bring the flags in for flag ceremony at Pack Meeting. We had a den meeting where the boys learned the right way to do the ceremony and Zacky took it very seriously :) He did a great job! Then we played a relay game against the boys and Melisa and I just sat and laughed and laughed while we watched Erin hold hands with Joel! The boys, of course, kicked out butts!
Taylor got her first official babysitting job (other than Kelly's kids and Kali). She watched Hannah Told. She had her bag all prepared like Meagan used to do for her :) She feels so grown up and is a great babysitter. Best of all she loves it! And she earned $30 that night! I'm gonna have to start borrowing $ from her! She loves that cat! And Oreo seems to love her too...she's always hugging and kissing Taylor! Bunny school is still going! I just have to constantly limit all the 'furniture' they are always adding. It should be called 'decorator school' :) Zacky and Derek made a little house for the puff ball guy that Zacky made at school :)
For Bryan's birthday I made plans to take him snowmobiling in Daniels Summit near Heber. I rented 2, but luckily Bryan talked me in to sharing one...I never would have made it! It was a beautiful place and day, but Freezing!! As we took off, the guy told us not to go off the trail and Bryan said don't worry, I'm conservative. Yeah right! Within 5 minutes up the loop, he had us completely stuck. After trying to dig out for a while and then finally flagging someone down to help, we finally got unstuck! It took 30 minutes and I actually thought I might freeze to death. So we get going on the trail, realizing we've got to get moving because the trail took 2 hours and it would be dark near that time. We took off and about 5 minutes later Bryan stops and starts looking for the car key. Truly divine intervention! We would have been so busted had he not stopped to check for the key. Realized it had fallen out at some point so we turned around. He started looking around where we had been stuck. I'm watching him dig and thinking there is no way we are finding that key. The snow was literally 10 feet deep where we had been. About 10 minutes later I see him jumping up and down with the key in his hand! He said he finally said a prayer, scooped his hand down in the snow and picked it up! I was so grateful because our fun little birthday trip could have gone so bad! We jumped back on and froze our way over the rest of the trail :) It was stunningly gorgeous, but we were so cold from all the digging, that all we were worried about was making it back! And we learned after driving those crazy machines that we have no interest in getting our own :) We went to Brick Oven afterwards for dinner (still his favorite). Definitely a birthday memory! Snot was just pouring down my face, so this was how I rode. Sexy! The top of the summit! The kids made birthday cake :) Taylor still makes the best cake! And then Daddy's favorite...homemade pizza!
sledding/snowboarding time in Alpine...love this hill near Oreo's old home :) We got SOOOO much snow so the hill was fabulous. It's also fabulous because I can sit in the warm car and still see it all! The boys are all about the jumping! Looks like Kara is running a snowboarding class! She so sweet with the kids!
Dad brought a guitar for the kids to play...the boys are so in to guitar right now. They have made up a couple of songs....so cute! I actually bought a guitar program for the kids, but surprise, surprise, Zacky doesn't want to practice that, he just wants to play! Taylor has learned a little and loves it! Zacky taught Grandpa how to play guitar hero! Dad and Kathryn decided to do a big 'unbirthday' party to celebrate all of the kids birthdays for the year. They started with yummy truck stop pancakes... Then a day at Chuck E Cheese (they are loved it!) Daddy finally got the jackpot...Taylor was so happy! there was pizza for everyone... Then back home for cake and presents! (the cake that was 'missing' for awhile :) What a crazy, fun day! The adults were exhausted :) Derek's baptism...Kimmy had to give the Holy Ghost talk :) While waiting for Tucanos, we shopped around River Woods and found the strangest store. I don't think the employees were loving us making fun of all the strange stuff!! Nice Kara (sadly I live on dental floss as well so I understand!) We always go to Tucano's when dad comes in town :) And dinner usually turns silly no matter where we go! Time for some Wii tennis... And more stair races :) Grandma Drexie sent get well cookies to Taylor after her snowboard fall :) Yummy!
